Michon Moline poured in four goals on Monday afternoon but it was not enough to help the Lady Panthers Lax team overcome a strong Shorter University squad as DU fell 18-7. Davenport concludes the spring break trip on Tuesday when they take on Tennessee Wesleyan.
After a tough opening season loss to Reinhardt on Sunday, Davenport returned to the field on Monday but fell victim to a strong Shorter University team.
SU scored 10 of the first 11 goals of the game and took a 9-1 lead into halftime.
Michon Moline (Rockford, Mich.) scored the lone goal for DU in the opening 30 minutes as she scored with 28:04 remaining on the clock.
Davenport did get a
Brittanie Bond (Rockford, Mich.) and
Jessica Talcott (Ada, Mich.) goal early in the second half but it was not near enough eventually falling 18-7.
Michon finished the game with a team high four goals and goaltender
Jenn Mercante (Carthage, Wis.) posted 21 saves in the loss.
