WALESKA, Ga. - The 2011 season for the DU women's lacrosse team opened on Sunday afternoon with a tough 17-4 loss to Reinhardt University.  Jessica Talcott led Davenport with a pair of goals as they will take on Tennessee Wesleyan today at 3:00pm.

Playing with many new players to the team, the Davenport women's lacrosse team struggled out of the gate on Sunday as they trailed 7-1 at halftime.

Davenport's lone goal of the first half was an unassisted one from Brittanie Bond (Rockford, Mich.).  The goal came at the 11:49 mark of the first after Reinhardt had already scored five goals and they would end the half with two straight to lead 7-1. 

The home team then scored the first four of the second half before DU really started to gain their confidence by scoring two straight by Jessica Talcott (Ada, Mich.).  Davenport added a fourth goal with 12:48 remaining from Monaye Ramirez (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

Davenport will take on Tennessee Wesleyan on Monday at 3:00pm.
