Box Score
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In the first home night game played at the DU Turf Field, it was the Knights of Calvin College who posted an 8-4 win over Davenport. The Lady Panthers, who are now 1-4 overall, will now direct their attention to the 2nd annual Shamrock Classic from March 18-19.
After getting their first win of the year last weekend against Wayne State, DU returned to the field looking for their second straight win.
DU started strong with back to back goals from
Monaye Ramirez (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and
Michon Moline (Rockford, Mich.) in the first six minutes of the game. Unfortunately that would be two of the three goals for the Lady Panthers in the first half as Calvin reeled off the next four goals to take a 4-2 lead.
DU responded with a goal from
Jessica Talcott (Ada, Mich.) with 10:00 to play to cut the lead in half but the Knights closed with a goal of their own for the 5-3 lead heading into the locker room.
Calvin then came out and score two quick goals in the second to take full contril and added a third at 9:14 for a commanding 8-3 lead. A late goal by
Jessica Talcott was not enough for DU as they fell 8-4.
DU is now 1-4 on the year and will host the 2nd annual Shamrock Classic next weekend from March 18-19.
