OLIVET, Mich. – The Lady Panthers built an early 4-0 advantage, but the margin was not enough as DU fell 13-12 to host Olivet College. Davenport returns to action this weekend in the Wheaton College Tournament.

Lady Panther goals by Alex Kuzma (Hudsonville, Mich.), Michon Moline (Rockford, Mich.) and Brittanie Bond (Rockford, Mich.)(two) gave the visitors an early 4-0 lead through the first 8 minutes of the contest. The difference continued to be four at 7-3 until the Comets reeled off four straight goals to tie the game at 7-7 with 5:52 remaining in the half. The Lady Panthers and Comets were deadlocked at 8-8 going into halftime.

Olivet took their first lead of the game, scoring the first two goals after halftime for a 10-8.

Monaye Ramirez (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored two-straight goals of her own for the Lady Panthers to tie the score at 11-11 with 16:28 left in the contest. However, the Comets responded with back-to-back tallies for a 13-11 advantage.

The Lady Panthers had some late scoring opportunities, however, DU could only manage one goal for the final margin of 13-12.

Michon Moline (Rockford, Mich.) scored a game-high seven goals for Davenport, which included six goals in a row during one stretch.

The Lady Panthers travel to Wheaton, Ill. this week for the Wheaton College Tournament. DU plays the University of Chicago on Friday at 7:30 pm. Saturday the Lady Panthers take on Saginaw Valley State and Wheaton College.
