The Opponent: #3 Ohio
The Series: 2-0 this season, 3-1 all-time
Scouting Report: The Davenport Panthers move into the Semi-Finals to face-off against the #3 ranked Ohio Bobcats. Ohio is a very strong team and is one of the hottest teams in the country coming into this game. The week before nationals started, Ohio defeated Lindenwood 4-0 to win the CSCHL playoff season title. They have defeated SUNY-Canton 3-0, and Oakland University 6-2.

Ohio is led up front by All-American, and Team USA World University games representative, #10 Tyler Pilmore. Pilmore had 19 goals, 38 assists in just 31 games. Also strong up front, and Pilmores linemates, are #10 Micheal Shultz, 24g, 40a and #9 Nick Rostek 13g, 27a. Ohio plays very fast, and very physical. Unlike the previous teams the Panthers have played, Ohio will control the puck and will not always look to dump it in the zone. Ohio is well known for shooting from everywhere and crashing the net hard. Davenport's goalies will have to be on their toes to direct pucks into the corners and the defense will have to pick up sticks on the players crashing the net.

The Bobcats are led on defense by Zach Barbis. The junior defenseman has 32 points in 37 games and is very steady on the point. Ohio is known for having good size on their defense and for having players that can skate and move the puck up the ice. The Bobcats are solid all around on defense and the forwards are coached to help out in the zone as well.

This is going to be a very tough test for the Panthers. Ohio is very good and will be very good in the future as well as most of their top players are juniors or lower. Last season Ohio made a strong run at the national championships. Coming off their CSCHL victory, the Bobcats have a lot of momentum, the Panthers will look to slow down OU, with a strong offensive attack themselves. This will be a great game to play and coach in, and a great game for the fans to watch.
