Panthers Drop Two Games at Wheaton College Tournament

WHEATON, Ill. – The women's lacrosse team would drop two games on the final day of the Wheaton College Tournament. DU would come up short in game one against Hope College 14-6, before falling in the final minutes of game two 15-14 to host Wheaton College.

In game one Davenport would be unable to recover from a 10-3 halftime deficit, with them falling 14-6 to Hope College. Jessica Talcott would lead the Panthers in scoring with three goals followed by Monaye Ramirez's two and Alex Kuzma's one.

Davenport would have 17 shots in the game compared to Hope's 35.

In game two against Wheaton College, Davenport would see themselves jump out to a quick 6-1 lead after fifteen minutes play with Michon Moline accounting for four of DU's six goals. The Panthers would continue to extend their lead heading into halftime up 10-4.

Unfortunately the momentum would shift towards Wheaton in the second half with them outscoring DU 11-4 and capturing the 15-14 victory late in play. Moline would lead DU in scoring posting seven goals, with Brittanie Bond finishing behind her with three goals.

The two losses put DU at 1-10 on the year with them returning to action on April 6th against cross-town rival Aquinas College. Game time is set for 5:30pm on the AQ Turf Field.
