GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport and Lourdes will meet on Saturday, December 1 for their first meeting since last year's Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament championship game. The Panthers enter as the No. 9 ranked team in NAIA DII while the Gray Wolves fell from the list of WHAC undefeated after a home loss to No. 24 Madonna on Wednesday. Tip is set for 3:00pm or 20 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game.

Davenport University and Lourdes University enter Saturday's showdown at the Student Center as two of the top teams in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference but will each enter after very different results from Wednesday night's play. The Panthers picked up a 79-67 road win at UNOH while the Gray Wolves fell 58-48 at home to the Crusaders of Madonna University. Both DU and Lourdes are two of the four teams that represented the conference at last year's NAIA National Tournament.

Lourdes, under the direction of third year head coach Andre Smith, are off to their best start in program history. The Gray Wolves are 5-2 currently and are 2-1 in league action with their lone setback coming this week to #24 Madonna University. Leading the team in scoring is Corey Harvey who is averaging 11.4 points per game and he is the lone player in double-figures as the team is led by a stout defense that only allows 48.4 points per game. Harvey is also the top rebounder hauling down 6.1 boards per night and Remy Fleurima has dished out a team high 18 assists.

Davenport picked up a road win on Wednesday night as they overcame a sluggish performance to win 79-67 at Northwestern Ohio. It marked the fifth straight win for head coach Burt Paddock and his Panthers as they sit atop the league standings tied with Madonna at 3-0. DU will host Siena Heights next Wednesday before heading to Lawrence Tech next Saturday.
