D1 Hockey to Travel to Kent State

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport D1 Hockey team will travel to take on Kent State this weekend. This is the first meeting all-time between the two programs. Davenport comes in with a 10-4-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 record in GLCHL play. The Panthers will look for a couple of wins this weekend to keep pace in the conference race with Adrian and Oakland.

The Panthers come into the match-up having won six of their last eight games, with one of their loses coming in a shootout. As it has been all season, offense has been a key to the Panthers success. Davenport is 9-0 when they score at least four goals and just 1-4-1 when they fail to score four goals. In their last game against Western, the line of Tyler Quigley, Matt Ogden, and Mason Bohlinger were key for the Panthers. The three players combined for five goals and seven assists. Quigley finished with three goals for the Panthers while Bohlinger recorded the go ahead goal and three assists in the game. Ogden played a part in five of the Davenport six goals finishing with a goal and four assists.
