Panthers Dominate in 79-60 Victory over Northwestern Ohio

DU's Four Seniors Prepare for Senior Night on Wednesday
Box Score

LIMA, Ohio. – The Panthers traveled to the University of Northwestern Ohio for a match-up with the Racers only three days after clinching the WHAC regular season championship.  Their focus and tempo were not slowed one bit as they raised their league record to 15-1 with a 79-60 victory over UNOH.

In their first meeting of the season, DU's speed was the key to a 96-56 win.  In today's contest, Davenport used a fast start in the first half to set the tone of the game.  Offensively, the Panthers doubled the Racers behind the arc hitting 6 of 11 triples.  JaVontae Ford nailed three of those continuing to improve upon his record for most 3's in a season.

Davenport led by as many as 21 points in the first half and took a 47-31 advantage into the break.  The second half was more of the same.  A James Humphrey dunk raised DU's lead to 24 points at the 10:58 mark.  He finished the game with 21 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the week.

The 19 point victory brought Davenport's season record to 25-3.  James Nelson tied Humphrey for top scoring honors with 21 of his own.  Damacious White chipped in 13, while Ford contributed 12.

Post-Game Comments

Head Coach Burt Paddock - "It felt great to get a road win in their gym.  We played well in spurts and also noticed some areas where we need to improve upon.  James Humphrey had a very solid game for us today.  For a majority of the game he played poised and our team really fed off of his energy."
