The Statesmen are making their third appearance at the national tournament with their last trip coming in 2008. They are winless in Branson under head coach Jon Henry who is in his 11th season with the Statesmen.
William Penn ranks second in the NAIA in scoring offense averaging 87.97 points per game. Senior Alan Douglas is their leading scorer averaging 18.6 points per game, while junior Taylor Stoutner leads the NAIA in 3-point field goals made with 125. As a team, the Statesmen attempt 25 3-pointers per game.
The Statesmen earned a bid to the national tournament with a runner-up finish in the Midwest Collegiate conference tournament. Douglas was a first-team all-conference selection along with sophomore Blake Walker. Stoutner earned all-conference honorable mention recognition.
With no common opponents and never having faced each other again, both teams will look to feel each other out quickly on Thursday.

NAIA National Tournament History for DU – Davenport is making its third straight appearance and third overall at the NAIA D2 National Tournament…Last season, Davenport picked up a pair of wins at the tournament as they defeated Briar Cliff and Black Hills State to reach the Elite 8…The Panthers lost in the opening round in 2009-10 to Eastern Oregon and now have an 2-2 overall record in Point Lookout…The Panthers were an un-seeded team in 2009-10 and enter the current tournament as the No. 3 seed.
