FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In their second of three games this week, the Davenport women's lacrosse team went on the road for to face first place Indiana Tech. They fell by the score of 22-7 and dropped their season record to 8-7. They will host Missouri Baptist tomorrow to decide 7th place in the upcoming NWLL postseason tournament.
The Lady Panthers got behind 8-0 in the first seven minutes of the opening stanza.
Schae Hoebeke was their first to put DU on the board on an assist from
Alison Bouman.
Indiana Tech went on to outscore Davenport 7-2 in the rest of the period. Hoebeke would score again, while
Michon Moline added her first goal of the night. The Panthers went into halftime down 14-3.
Davenport was able to build some momentum in the second period scoring three quick goals from
Valerie Carr, Bouman, and
Taylor Balch. They trailed 15-6 with 20 minutes to play in the game.
The Warrior defense would allow only one more goal from DU as they went on to score seven more times closing out the 22-7 victory. Moline and Hoebeke would lead the scoring for DU with two goals each. Goalie
Amanda Prins finished the game with 11 saves.
Post-Game Notes
Prins currently has 194 saves on the season and is 18 saves away from tying the most recorded in a season…The 22 goals by Indiana Tech was the most Davenport has allowed so far this season…Live video will be provided for tomorrow's gave against Missouri Baptist on the “DAN”
