Box Score

ROME, Ga. – Davenport was again looking for revenge against a previous opponent at the National Women's Lacrosse League tournament today in a matchup against Reinhardt University.  They had another hard fought battle against the Eagles today, but fell 16-11.  DU will now be playing for 7th place against Missouri Baptist.

After dropping a 14-9 decision earlier this season, Davenport felt confident about walking away from the game with a different result.  Reinhardt's leading scorer Emily Collins' 10 goals proved to be the difference.

The Panthers raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first half, scoring four unanswered goals in less than five minutes of play.  Kaitlyn Lowden scored two of those goals unassisted.

Valerie Carr would add another goal after Reinhardt was able to get on the board.  The Eagles, however, stormed off on a 6-0 run to take over the lead at 7-5.  At halftime, the Panthers found themselves trailing 10-7.

Davenport was not able to close the gap in the second half as they were outscored 6-4.  The Panthers had their opportunities as they outshot Reinhardt 17-15 in the half, but goalie Jaybriel Guyton stopped 11 of those shots.

Lowden led the offense with three goals.  Schae Hoebeke and Alison Bouman each contributed two goals each.

Post-Game Notes

Kaitlyn Lowden is now second on the team in scoring with 37 goals…The 10 goals scored by Reinhardt's Emily Collins is the most given up by DU this season…Davenport will play at 9 a.m. tomorrow in their final game of the season
