HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Davenport picked up their ninth and tenth straight wins on Saturday with a sweep of Purdue North Central and a 3-1 win over host Huntington. The Panthers upped their overall record to 17-3 with the pair of wins and the team finished the month of September with a record of 11-1 with their only setback to #9 Indiana Wesleyan. DU will return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to Lima, Ohio for a WHAC contest with Northwestern Ohio who is currently 22-1 on the year and riding an 18-match winning streak.
The wins continue to keep coming for the Davenport volleyball team as they picked up two more on Saturday at the Huntington University tri-matches in Indiana. DU swept Purdue North Central 27-25, 25-10, 25-15 in the opener before taking down the host Foresters 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13 to claim their 10
th straight win.
In the opener, three players posted double-digit kills led as
Kelse Moon led the way with 14 followed by
Hannah Stone with 12 and
Molly Lameyer with 11. Davenport's offense continues to click as they posted a .365 hitting percentage.
Sidney Rodriguez and
Belma Alic led another solid defensive effort with 15 and 13 digs respectively while
Amber Getty dished out 34 assists.
The second match of the day featured coach vs. pupil as head coach
Megan Lenhart went up against her former collegiate coach in Amy Settle who is in her first year at Huntington. Davenport posted a 25-22 win in the opener only to see the Foresters tie it with a 25-23 win in the second. The Panthers quickly regrouped and won decisively in the third 25-18 and followed it with a 25-13 win to close it out. Freshman
Marcey DeHaan posted a career high 13 kills while fellow freshman
Molly Lameyer finished with 11.
Lexie Spetoskey ran the offense and finished with a season high 33 assists in the win.
Davenport will play a big road match in conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Lima to take on the Racers of Northwestern Ohio. The match is scheduled for a 6:00pm start.

Kelse Moon saw her consecutive match streak of double-digit kills end at seven with only four in the win over Huntington…Davenport and UNOH has split their last two matches with DU winning in four and the Racers posting a 5-set win last season
