The Racers kept the pressure going into the first few minutes of the second half and had the lead down to just five after their season leader in points per game, Derrick Tate, scored three straight points to make it 28-23 Davenport at the 18:00 mark. DU was forced into an early second half timeout and out of the break outscored the Racers 9-2 to build their lead back into double-digits only to see UNOH get it down to just six at the second media timeout after scoring nine consecutive points all on 3-pointers.
UNOH had a few chances to get it down to a one possession game, but the DU defense held tough and the Panthers got some solid free-throw shooting down the stretch to preserve the victory. Other stat leaders for Davenport included
