Fall Regular Season Comes to Close at Saginaw Valley State for Women’s Rugby

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With one game remaining on the fall regular season schedule, the Davenport women's rugby team will seek perfection as they hop on a bus and travel to University Center, Mich., to face Saginaw Valley State University Saturday in a brunch meeting at 11 a.m. The Panthers have won all six contests in their inaugural season.

In addition to going perfect in their six games, the Panthers have outscored their opponents 412-5. Only Ferris State has broken through Davenport's defense to record a try. Danielle Ordway, who has recorded a point in every single game this season, continues to lead the way for Davenport, compiling 16 tries and going 14-for-23 on the kicks for 102 points, the first to break the 100 barrier. Gabby Florez is not that far behind Ordway in the tries department, tallying 13, while Hannah Tennant is the conversion leader with 18 successful kicks in 33 attempts.
