About the NAIA Top 25 Rankings
Although Davenport stays at No. 7 in the NAIA Top 25 for the fourth straight week, the teams above the Panthers have been shaked around. For the second consecutive week a new team ranks No. 1 in Embry-Riddle (Fla.). Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), which is the only team to hand Davenport a loss this season, moved up to No. 2 but making the biggest leap was Westmont (Calif.), moving from sixth to third. Vanguard (Calif.), last week's No. 1, took a hit in the polls, falling five spots to No. 6.
Scouting Aquinas – 7-2-0, 3-0-0 WHAC – Head coach Mark Fales
The Saints enter the week sharing first place in the WHAC standings with Davenport with a 3-0-0 record. Recently, Aquinas escaped with a 3-2 overtime victory at Concordia last Wednesday and held Madonna to a 1-0 win at home last Saturday. Elizabeth Vaughn, Leeann Latsch, Allison VanPatten and Cami Baker have been the top four scorers for the Saints this season. Vaughn paces the team with five goals and three assists for 13 points, followed by Latsch (four goals, three assists) with 11 and VanPatten (four goals, two assists) and Baker (three goals, four assists) with 10 each. The Saints have gone by committee in the goalkeeping department but Molly O'Connor has racked up the most minutes (523:44), going 5-2-0 with a 1.55 goals-against average.
Scouting Indiana Tech – 5-6-1, 0-3-0 WHAC – Head coach Jim Lipocky
The Warriors are having a bit of a downfall after having high expectations according to the conference preseason poll. After being predicted to finish second behind Davenport in the preseason ranks, Indiana Tech is still searching for a league victory after three attempts. The Warriors have relied on reigning WHAC Offensive Player of the Year Tori Singstock to produce the team's attack, scoring 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. On the other side of the field, head coach Jim Lipocky has sent three goalkeepers to the field but Jordan Roell has received the most starting nods (9), clocking in 835:10 and posting a 4-5-1 record with a 2.16 GAA.
