GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a thrilling win at rival Cornerstone on Wednesday, head coach Burt Paddock and the No. 10 men's basketball looked to use the momentum from such an emotional victory in another crucial WHAC matchup with Lourdes. Lourdes was leading most of the game as DU led for the first time with 11 minutes left in the game, but Lourdes never led by more than seven points as the Gray Wolves were able to hold on to win 59-55. Dominez Burnett led the team in scoring once again, with 20 points and Javonte Ford chipped in ten points. The Panthers will be back on the court Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. as they host Northwestern Ohio at the DU Student Center.

The Gray Wolves opened the game fast as they scored on their first two possessions and jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Dominez Burnett put the first points on the board for the Panthers four minutes into the game. Lourdes held the lead the entire first half, but they could never really pull away as they could only put seven points between themselves and DU.

DU had a hard time scoring in the first half as they only shot 25.93 percent from the floor in the first half and were 0-7 from behind the arc. Lourdes shot 47.62 percent from the field in the firs half and 1-5 from three. At half Dominez Burnett was leading all scorers with eight points, and Lourdes had the advantage on the glass, 22-16, and also on the scoreboard as they led 25-21.

In the second half, both teams were going back and forth, but DU has unable to grab the lead until 11:19 left in the game as Mike Betcher knocked down a three to give the Panthers a one point lead. However, the lead did not last long as the Gray Wolves came back to take a three point lead.

As both teams were trading buckets Davenport took a five-point lead with 4:14 left, but after DU took that lead Lourdes chipped away at it to take 32 seconds left in the game. With less than 30 seconds to go Nick Gamble had three point shot that rattled out and Lourdes was able to hang to win 59-55.

DU shot 51.85 percent in the second half to finish the game shooting 38.9 percent from the field, and went 4-20 from behind the three-point line. DU shot 64.3 percent from the free throw line as Lourdes was 84.2 percent and Lourdes out rebounded Davenport 35-29.

The Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday, November 26 as they host Northwestern Ohio at the DU Student Center at 7:30 p.m.
