GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After posting a perfect 7-0 in 15s play this fall, the Davenport women's rugby team now transitions to 7s mode as they head to Columbus, Ohio, Saturday to take on three schools to qualify for a spot at the USA Rugby 7s National Tournament. The Panthers start the day taking on Michigan at 2 p.m., followed by Michigan State at approximately 3 p.m., and host Ohio State at 4 p.m. The winner of the pool play will head to Greensboro, N.C., for the national stage Nov. 23-24.

The Panthers, who are in their inaugural season, will get a taste of 7s play for the first time after playing in 15s for the first seven contests. In addition to posting a perfect season in the fall, the Panthers have outscored their opponents 497-5.
Danielle Ordway was the first Panther to break the 100-point barrier after logging in 16 tries and making 14 successful kicks for 106 points.
Gabby Florez followed with 14 tries for 70 points and not far behind her was
Hannah Tennant, who racked up all her points using her foot by making 28 conversions and eight penalty kicks for 68 points.
