GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After pushing there wins streak to a season high of four games the D1 hockey team has been on roll lately as they picked two wins over top ten teams in the country. Head coach
Phil Sweeney has found line combinations that have been clicking to lead them to a strong winning streak as the fall semester winds down. The Panthers will face Michigan-Dearborn on Friday and Saturday with game one being in Dearborn, Mich. on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN-DEARBORN:
Michigan-Dearborn is led on the offensive end by Ryan Kelly with 31 points on the season to lead the way for the Wolverines as he also leads the team in goals (15) and assists (16). Behind Kelly in all three categories is Jase Paciocco with 27 points, 12 goals and 15 assists. Anthony Olson is third on the team in points in points with 21.
In net, the Wolverines have a few options to go to as four different goaltenders have had playing time in net, but they will mostly likely look to Micah Collier and Max Dutzy. Collier has played in 11 games posting a 7-2 record with a 3.49 goals against average and .91 save percentage. Dutzy has appeared in a nine games with an 0-7 record while recording 253 saves and .87 save percentage.
LAST MEETING:
The last time the Wolverines and Panthers met was on November 2 of this year as the Panthers completed a weekend sweep of the Wolverines in a 4-2 win. In the game DU got off to a strong start scoring a goal in the first four minutes as
Cody Walsh was able to blast the puck past the Wolverine goaltender. However, Michigan-Dearborn scored a goal in the first 90 seconds of the second period to tie the game at one goal each.
DU scored the next two goals, one by
Andrew Frank and one by
Tyler Layle, to take a 3-1 lead. The Wolverines scored a goal in the third to cut the lead to one, but
Phil Wendecker added an empty netter to secure the 4-2 win for the Panthers
WEEKEND RECAP:
The Panthers had the weekend off of the holiday break, but DU played No. 7 Adrian College on Tuesday before the break. Davenport was able to capture a huge road win against the Bulldogs, 4-1, which moves them closer to Adrian in the GLCHL standings.
THE PANTHERS:
DU finished a busy week with four games in a six day stretch and they were able to win all four games and make a move up the ACHA rankings and GLCHL standings. Leading the way for the Panthers is
Robert Kleiman with 26 points and 19 assist, while
Phil Wendecker leads the team in goals with 11 and is second on the team in points with 22.
Luke McCarthy,
Mason Bohlinger and
Andrew Frank are all tied for third on the team in points with 14 points each.
In net,
Phil Graveline has been on fire as of late as he has kept the Panthers in each of the games he has played marked by stellar performances against Liberty and Adrian. For the season, Graveline has a 7-5 record with 2.58 goals against average and .92 save percentage.
Matt Kaludis has been a great in his six starts with a 2.13 goals against average and .92 save percentage while posting a 4-2 record.
GLCHL OUTLOOK:
In the GLCHL the Adrian Bulldogs still lead the way with 42 points after 16 games, while Oakland sits in second with 30 points through 17 games. The Panthers are in third place with 24 points after 12 games after beating Eastern Michigan twice; the Eagles are in fourth place 14 points. Davenport's next opponent, Michigan-Dearborn, sits in sixth place with nine points and just ahead of them is Western Michigan with ten points, and Kent State rounds out the conference with six points.
