Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Davenport women's rugby team continued their dominance on Homecoming night as they blanked the Calvin College Knights 78-0. Nine different panthers found the try zone, as four of them recorded two more tries of their own. The Lady Panthers will look to maintain their perfect 6-0 record on the road next week as they travel to Western Michigan to take on the Broncos.
 
The Panthers got off to a hot start as Jennifer Harig, Allison Miedzielec, Kelsey Vanderweide, and Carrie Eggleston all recorded tries within the first 20 minutes of the half. Danielle Ordway continued the assault on the Knights as she tallied three tries of her own in the half, and was 0-2 on her conversion attempts. The Panthers took a 51-0 lead into the half.
 
The Knights were unable to slow down the Panthers attack in the second half as Julia Mayer and Tara Taljaard also joined the scoring frenzy for the Panthers just 10 minutes into the half. Brenna Donahue and Melissa Francis finished off the Knights by recording two tries of their own as the final score ended in a 78-0 shutout in favor of Davenport.
 
Hannah Tennant was 4 of 12 on her conversion attempts, and is now 12-25 on the season.
 
The Panthers will hit the road next week Saturday, October 18 as they travel to Kalamazoo to take on Western Michigan. Kickoff is yet to be determined.
