Site: Grand Rapids, Mich. (DU Turf Field)
Score: Davenport 109, Central Michigan 0
Records: DU (8-0), CMU (2-5-1)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport women's rugby team closed out their fall regular season at home against Central Michigan on Saturday night. Danielle Ordway led the team with four tries and Jennifer Harig chipped in with tries as Davenport rolled past Central Michigan 109-0. Davenport closed out their fall regular season at 8-0 and will now wait to see whom they will face in the postseason.

Davenport started out the game fast as Courtenay Tafel scored her first try of the game in the first minute of play. Tafel then came right back five minutes later to tally her second try of the match as Hannah Tennant made her first conversion of the night to give Davenport a 12-0 lead just six minutes into the match.

Davenport's offense continued to roll as they scored three more tries in a seven-minute span to take a 33-0 lead. Hannah Tennant was perfect on the three conversions in that seven-minute span. In the final minutes of the first half, Davenport rattled off four more tries as the Panthers took a 57-0 lead into the locker room. Tennant went 6-for-8 on conversion in the first half and Danielle Ordway missed her only attempt.

In the second half, Davenport did not let off the gas as they scored their first try eight minutes into the half with Ashley Byrge scoring her only try of the match, and Byrge took over the kicking duties in the second half going 6-for-8 on conversions in the half. After Davenport put five more tries on the board, Central Michigan was threatening the Davenport defense, but DU stood strong to hold on to the shutout. The Panthers closed out the game with two more tries to win the match 109-0.

This is the first time this season that Davenport surpassed the century mark and it is the second time in the young program's history in going over 100 points. The first time in program history was last October when Davenport beat Western Michigan 138-0.

The Panthers have now completed their fall regular season with an 8-0 record and will wait to see who they play to open their postseason run.
