SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Davenport volleyball team got pool play underway in the NAIA National Championship on Tuesday night against Lindsey Wilson. Davenport won the first set, but lost the final three sets of the match to fall 3-1.
Hannah Stone led the way for the Lady Panthers with 16 kills, but Davenport dropped to 35-8 on the year. The Lady Panthers will continue pool play on Wednesday night at 6:45 p.m. EST against No. 1 Rocky Mountain College.

Hannah Stone led the offensive attack for Davenport with 16 kills, while
Molly Lameyer and
Marcey DeHaan each had 13 kills apiece. Stone also had eight block assists and Lameyer chipped in with six block assists as the Lady Panthers had a total of ten team blocks during the match.

In back-and-forth match, Davenport trailed 23-17 late in the first set, but the Lady Panthers battled off multiple set points to win the first of the match 31-29. In the first set, Davenport had their lowest hitting percentage of the match at .145. In the second set, Davenport and Lindsey Wilson continued to battle in a closely contested set, but the Blue Raiders were able edge out the Panthers 25-23 to even the match at one set apiece.

The third and fourth sets seen the same back-and-forth action as the first two sets. The Davenport offense continued to improve as their hitting percentage was .200 in the third set and .351 in the fourth set. In the final set of the match of the match, Davenport jumped out 10-4 lead but Lindsey Wilson continued to inch back into the set and took their first lead of the set at 20-19. The Panthers and Blue Raiders continued to trade points, but the Blue Raiders were able complete the comeback in the fourth set to win the set 25-23 and win the match 3-1.

The Lady Panthers will be back in action Wednesday against the No. 1 Rocky Mountain College at 6:45 p.m. EST at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Post-Match NotesIn their first appearance at the NAIA Volleyball Championship Final Site, Davenport posted a hitting percentage of just .207… After setting the career assists record in program history,
Amber Getty posted 46 assists in the match… The Lady Panthers are now 1-2 all-time in the NAIA Volleyball National Championships.
