INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Davenport women's rugby team returned to action this weekend against Indiana University. Three different Panthers scored tries, but the balanced attack was not enough as DU dropped a close one 25-19. Davenport is now 8-1 in 15s play and is 1-1 in their spring portion of their inaugural season. The Lady Panthers will return to action on March 15 when they host Notre Dame College (Ohio) on the DU Turf Field at 3 p.m.

In wet and muddy Indianapolis the Lady Panthers put their undefeated record on the line against Indiana University Saturday afternoon. Davenport came out looking to pick up where they left off against Michigan as Joanie Marino got the scoring started for DU. Danielle Ordway followed up with a try of her own, and Makala Ferguson capped of the tries for the Panthers.

Hannah Tennant took on the kicking duties for the Lady Panthers as she was 2-for-3 on conversions. However, the three tries and two conversions was not enough for Davenport as they lost a close battle to the Hoosiers, 25-19.

This was the first loss for DU in 15s play, and this was the Panthers lowest scoring game with just 19 points, as their previous low came against Grand Valley State when they scored just 38 points.

Davenport will return to action in three weeks when they host Notre Dame College (Ohio) on the DU Turf Field on March 15 at 3 p.m.
