FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Jessica Lemcke and Kaitlyn Lowden both scored four goals, Taylor Balch added three and four different players combined for seven as the Davenport women's lacrosse closed its season-opening tour in Georgia with an 18-7 win over Emmanuel Thursday evening. The Panthers, having won their two-game stand in the south, will begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Lourdes at the Detroit Country Day indoor facility in Detroit March 8 at 9 p.m.

Brooke Knoll, Emily DeVries and Sara Kuzava each added two goals and Hannah Maroe scored one to round out the Panthers 18-point day. Along with her two goals, Knoll notched two assists.

"Our attackers never quit, whether we have the ball or on the ride," first-year head coach Rob Harris said. "I have been very proud of our ride since game one and it is only getting better."

Lowden also dominated in draw controls with nine. Kuzava also won three opening draws and Lemcke was victorious in one.

"Kaitlyn played out of her mind. She was so focused during warm ups, and she kept that focus on the draw and on offense," Harris said. "Brooke and Jessica have really worked hard to be a big part of this team. They never quit, and that is what we ask from everyone. They will only get better as the season continues."

After making a dozen saves and allowing 12 goals between the pipes in Tuesday's 13-12 win over Reinhardt in her collegiate debut, Samantha Powers made six saves.

"Defense is starting to play as a unit, and it showed tonight," Harris said. "They were communicating perfectly and we never lost a player out there. Emmanuel worked hard and got a few goals on us. We will continue to improve throughout the season"
