Scouting UM-Dearborn – 6-18, 3-13 WHAC – Head coach John Mackson (3rd Year)
Head coach John Mackson is in his third year at the helm of the Dearborn program and his Wolverines are currently 6-18 on the year. UMD brings a record of 3-13 in the WHAC with wins over Marygrove, Lawrence Tech and Lourdes on their schedule. Jamiel Strickland leads the Wolverines on offense as the guard is putting up 11.9 points per game and is closely followed by Gage Throgmorton at 9.6 per night. The Wolverines rank No. 32 in NAIA DII in scoring defense (71.1) while they are No. 37 in Total Blocks (73). UMD has split their last four games that also includes a non-conference win over Great Lakes Christian.

Last Year vs. Dearborn
Davenport and UM-Dearborn will be meeting for the first time this season as they will get both of their WHAC games done in the next two weeks. The Panthers have controlled this series under head coach Burt Paddock as they are 11-1 including a pair of blowout wins in 2012-13. DU won by 33 on the road and by 39 at home to sweep the regular season series for the fifth consecutive year. The only loss under Paddock to the Wolves was back in the 2008-09 season in an upset in the conference quarterfinals.

History against the Wolverines
Davenport, as did they against many of their WHAC foes, got off to a slow start in the all-time series, but they have dominated over the last five plus seasons. Since Burt Paddock came on board in 2008-09, the Panthers are 11-1 and now lead the all-time series 14-7

Stranglehold on State of Michigan
Since coming to Davenport before the 2008-09 season, head coach Burt Paddock has had a stranglehold on the teams from the state of Michigan. In that span, Paddock owns a record of 84-23 against teams from the Mitten including a mark of 11-1 vs. UM-Dearborn
