GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Jessica Lemcke led the fourth-ranked women's lacrosse team to a 27-5 win over Oklahoma Baptist with 8 goals. Hanna Bush also chipped in with five goals. The Panthers are now 6-0 on the season and continue to improve on the best start in program history. Davenport will be back in action later this week when they travel down the Beltline to face Aquinas College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
 
Jessica Lemcke had the hot stick for Davenport as she scored eight goals, all in the first half, to lead the team. Hanna Bush was able to tally five goals of her own and was also 1-1 on free position shots. Taylor Balch tallied her fifth hat trick on the season with three goals and also chipped in with two assists. Brooke Knoll had seven assists in the game to lead the team in that department, while Kaitlyn Lowden had four assists.
 
Davenport started the game fast as Lemcke scored the first goal of the game in just 25 seconds, to give DU a quick 1-0 lead. Just 1:23 later, Lemcke added her second goal of the game and Knoll followed with two goals of her own as the Panthers led 4-0 just 3:52 into the game. Davenport outscored Oklahoma Baptist 13-1 in the final 26:08 of the first half to take a 17-1 lead into halftime.
 
Balch got the scoring the started in the second half for the Panthers just 36 second in to increase their lead to 17. The Bison came right back and scored to bring the game back within in 16. Davenport scored the next seven goals to go up 25-2 with 11:06 remaining in regulation. Oklahoma Baptist scored two straight and the teams traded goals to close the game, as Davenport went on to win 27-5.
 
DU is now 6-0 to start the season, which is their best start in program history. Oklahoma Baptist drops down to 0-4 on the season.
 
The Panthers will now travel down the Beltline as they face Aquinas College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in a pivotal WHAC matchup.
