GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kaitlyn Lowden scored six goals and notched four assists for a new career-high 10 points, Taylor Balch and Jessica Lemcke both added four goals as the trio led Davenport's second-ranked women's lacrosse team to a 21-4 win over Lourdes on a light rain evening at DU Turf Field Thursday evening. The Panthers improve their undefeated record to 11-0 overall and 6-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference but a challenge awaits them as defending champion and third-ranked Indiana Tech visits Grand Rapids Monday at 7 p.m.

Hanna Bush and Brooke Knoll also had a multi-goal performance as they combined for five. Bridget Zuidgeest and Emily DeVries round out the Panthers who found the back of the net.

While freshman netminder Samantha Powers was asked to play as a defender, fellow keeper sophomore Lena Henderson made three saves in goal along with picking up one groundball.

Mackenzie VanDerWarf led the effort in the back of the pitch by causing three turnovers and collecting four ground balls. Sydney Gray also caused two turnovers while Mariah Newton also picked up four groundballs.

Although Lourdes (1-10, 0-6 WHAC) struck first and kept up with Davenport, the Panthers took a 3-2 lead on an unassisted goal by Balch which began a 12-goal run throughout the rest of the opening period. Lowden kept the momentum as she completed the hat trick in less than three minutes.

Davenport went into the locker room with a 13-2 lead having outshot the Gray Wolves 23-5 and holding a 14-11 edge on groundballs.
