GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It was a record-breaking day for Danielle Ordway as the freshman tallied a Davenport University record seven tries and a conversion for 37 points in the Panthers 86-0 win over Ferris State on a cold Saturday morning at DU Turf Field. Hannah Tennant also highlighted the day making seven kicks for 14 points while four different Panthers found their way to the try zone to join Ordway.

Hunter Moreland finished the day with a hat trick, Brittany O'Dell added two, and Gabby Florez and Kelsey Vanderweide both carried the ball into the try zone.

Davenport jumped ahead 2:25 into the contest with a breakaway on the left side, but she missed her own conversion. O'Dell added on to the lead with her only try of the day at the 26 minute mark and another Ordway run followed by Tennant's first successful kick gave the Panthers a 17-0 lead.

Ferris State, which was the first school to break through the Panthers defense for a try in their last meeting in September, began to put pressure on Davenport's defense but a turnover changed the tide and another runaway by Ordway completed the hat trick at 14:42.

Moreland, Ordway and Florez got three tries in before the Panthers went into the locker room with a 43-0 lead.

The Panthers will finish their inaugural season in both 15s and sevens on the road starting with a trip to South Bend, Ind., to play 15s against Notre Dame Saturday at 1p.m.
