Next DU event: Saturday, April 19 – vs. Indiana Tech – NWLL Championship Third Place game (Belleville, Ill.) – 4 p.m. EDT

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Brooke Knoll and Kaitlyn Lowden both scored a hat trick, Hanna Bush and Emily DeVries each had one goal and Samantha Power made seven saves in front of the net, but it was not enough as the third seeded Robert Morris' women's lacrosse team scored three goals within the final 12:11 to survive a 10-8 battle with No. 2 Davenport in the National Women's Lacrosse League Championship semifinal Friday evening.

It was the second meeting of the season between the Panthers and Eagles, who both post 16-3 records at the end of the night. Davenport won the last meeting 12-7 at DU Turf Field last month.

The Panthers will meet Indiana Tech for a fourth time this season to determine the third place finisher in the tournament Saturday at 4 p.m. The Warriors were edged by the defending national champion Savannah College of Art & Design 13-12 in the other semifinal quadrant.

Taylor Balch contributed to two of Knoll's goals for the Panthers only assists on the evening. Jessica Lemcke won half of Davenport's 10 draw controls and Lowden was victorious in two.

Mackenzie VanDerWarf and Natalie McHale each collected three groundballs to lead Davenport in that department.

The Eagles (16-3) struck first with 26:46 left in the first half but Knoll answered back less than five minutes after. Davenport was in control the remainder of the first half, posting a 6-2 to take a 6-3 lead at halftime.

Robert Morris' rally began when it scored two goals in 23 seconds to cut the lead to one at the 28-minute mark. Although the Panthers regained a two-goal lead with a goal by DeVries at 24:32, the Eagles slowly crawled back to tie the contest seven apiece with 15:09 left. Lowden broke the tie with her third goal 49 seconds later before a three-goal run by RMU secured the win.
