BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Samantha Power and Lena Henderson combined for 14 saves and Kaitlyn Lowden scored four goals but it was not enough as the second-seeded Davenport women's lacrosse team couldn't overcome an early deficit in its fourth meeting with Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference rival Indiana Tech. The Warriors scored the first three goals and held the Panthers offense in check to take a 16-8 victory in the National Women's Lacrosse League Championship third-place game Saturday evening.

The Panthers finish the season with a program best 16-4, highlighted by their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championship.

Emily DeVries, Jessica Lemcke, Mariah Newton and Alison Bouman each found the back of the net once to round out the Panthers in scoring. Newton and Natalie McHale also notched an assist.

McHale and Hannah Maroe each had three of Davenport 21 groundballs recorded. Six different Panthers each had a draw control with Lemcke winning five.

Powers made six saves but allowed seven goals in the first 2:53. Henderson went the rest of the way stopping eight shots but conceding nine goals.

Indiana Tech (12-6) went into intermission lead 7-3. Autumn McMillin scored three of her five goals in the first half to lead the Warriors.
