Field 1 Live Cam GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Despite being eliminated from a 15s national championship last week, the Davenport women's rugby team has one more title to chase for this weekend. The Panthers will be making a short drive to Grand Valley State University for the American Collegiate Rugby Association's 7s National Championships this weekend. DU will face Merrimack, Ferris State and Utah State in pool play Saturday with the championship game held Sunday at noon.

How Davenport got to the pool playThe Panthers earned a spot in the ACRA 7s National Championship pool play after picking up four wins at Lindenwood University March 22. The Panthers started the day defeating Saint Louis 27-5, host Lindenwood 24-14 and Grand Valley State 24-5 to win the pool play and receive a bye to the tournament championship, where they defeated the Lady Lions again 28-14.
Danielle Ordway combined for eight tries and a conversion for 42 points on the day,
Hunter Moreland,
Brittany O'Dell and
Joanie Marino added two tries while
Makala Ferguson,
Leah Tennant and
Courtenay Tafel each added one.
Mercedes Clifford made five conversions and O'Dell connected three.
Recapping Last WeekendDavenport is coming off having been eliminated in the regional final of the USA Rugby 15's National Championships at Penn State last weekend. The Panthers cruised to a 27-5 victory over Geneseo in the regional opener before falling 27-7 to Indiana (Pa.) in the tournament quarterfinal.
Danielle Ordway recorded three tries and
Hannah Tennant made five successful kicks to lead the Panthers.
