ANN ARBOR, Mich.  – The streaks for the Davenport Volleyball team have been extended to seven matches and 21 consecutive sets as DU defeated Concordia on Friday night 25-18. 25-21, 25-16. The victory lifts head coach
Megan Lenhart and her team to 8-3 on the season and 3-0 in league action. The Panthers travel to Lawrence Tech on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tilt with the Blue Devils.
Krissy Dill and
Hannah Stone led the offensive charge for the No. 25 ranked Panthers as they each posted 13 kills while
Amber Getty finished with 37 assists. Defensively,
Morgan Torres led the charge with 19 digs while
Lexie Spetoskey had 13.
DU jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the opening set and was really never threatened while leading the entire way before scoring five of the final six points for the 25-18 win. The host Cardinals did make a valiant comeback in the second after trailing 20-12 but DU closed them out 25-21 before winning the match in the third 25-16.
As a team, the Panthers hit .220 compared to just .097 for Concordia.
Davenport will remain on the east side of the state tonight before taking on Lawrence Tech in Southfield tomorrow at 1 p.m. Live stats and video will be available for the match.
Post-Match NotesHannah Stone inched closer to the 1,000 dig mark as she now sits four away from the milestone that only two other players in school history have reached…DU is now 10-4 all-time against Concordia and have won the last 10 meetings including the last three in straight sets
