GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a successful 3-0 home stand to begin their season, the Davenport women's rugby team hits the road for the first time this season as they take on Grand Valley State Friday at 7 p.m. This will only be one of two away games for the Panthers this season, as they will head back home on Saturday, September 27 for a contest with Saginaw Valley State on the Turf Field.

Greg Teliczan has his Panthers playing exceptional rugby over the first three games this season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Davenport has only allowed a total of 12 points on the season, while managing to score a combined point total of 137. In their last contest, the Panthers faced their toughest matchup yet as the Lindenwood Lions came to town and battled Davenport all the way till the end of the match. Danielle Ordway and Courtenay Tafel recorded tries for the Panthers, as Hannah Tennant was 2-2 on conversions and 2-5 on penalty kicks
 
Ordway was expected to play a very important role for the Panthers coming into the season, and certainly has not disappointed thus far. She leads the team with seven tries and 35 total points.
 
Scouting Grand Valley State
Unlike Davenport, Grand Valley State has yet to play a regular season game this year, and have been looking forward to this matchup for a long time now. The Lakers are no stranger to the Panthers for the two teams saw each other four different times last season, with three of those games being in 7s play. Davenport won all four contests and has only allowed the Lakers to score a total of five points on them.
