DEARBORN, Mich. –
Emily Severn scored 16 points, including a 4-for-5 performance from 3-point range,
Daina Grazulis added 16 of her 18 points in the first half and the second-ranked Davenport women's basketball team began the second loop of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season with a 99-52 road win over Michigan-Dearborn Saturday afternoon.

While the entire Panther lineup found the basket, they each also had a rebound. In fact, Davenport dominated the rebounding department 58-28.
Â
Despite the win, the Panthers (18-0, 12-0 WHAC) had a bit of a difficult time finding a solid momentum in the first half at the UMD Field House. Davenport went 17-for-40 (42.5 percent) from the field but did take advantage of the free throw line, hitting 19-of-22 opportunities. DU finished the day shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 28-for-40 on the charity stripe.
Â
UM-Dearborn tried to take an early advantage right from the start while Davenport got acclimated to the UMD Field House. Although the Panthers conceded 11 turnovers in the opening period, the defense did cause 20 on the Wolverines while collecting 15 steals. DU also dominated the rebounding department 31-12.
The Wolverines (3-17, 1-11 WHAC) were led by Jalissa Williams. Although an injury sidelined her in the last meeting at the DU Student Center last December, Williams turned in 26 points to lead the afternoon contest. Courtney Teets also contributed to 13 points.
Â
Davenport's short road trip concludes Wednesday when it heads to No. 17 Siena Heights. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
