GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After splitting a weekend series on the road last weekend against Lindenwood, the Davenport D1 hockey team will be back in action this weekend with a home-and-home series with Michigan-Dearborn. The Panthers will begin their final stretch of games as they have just three weekend series left on the year. The home-and-home series between Davenport and Michigan-Dearborn will start Friday in Dearborn, Mich., before both teams return to Patterson Ice Center to conclude the season series at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Scouting Michigan-DearbornÂ
The Wolverine come into the weekend with a 17-13-1-2 record, and had a home-and-home series against Oakland last weekend with the first half of the series being suspended, but Oakland was able to take the second game of the weekend 6-3. Jase Paciocco leads the team in scoring with 44 points on the season with 12 goals and 32 assists, while Gino Darin has 20 goals to lead the team. In goal, Nate Ferris has made the most appearances for Michigan-Dearborn and has one shutout to go along with a 3.53 goals against average and a .884 save percentage.

The Panthers Â
Kody Polin leads the Panthers in scoring with 29 points on the season and
Jordan Simmonds is tied with Polin for the team lead in goals with 15 on the season.
Chris Eckler leads the team with 18 assists, as the Panthers had their longest win streak of the season, four games, snapped last timeout against Lindenwood to cap off the weekend series.
Clayton Brown has appeared in the last 12 games for the Panthers as he has put together a 9-7-0 record on the year along with a 2.84 goals against average and a .893 save percentage.

GLCHL OutlookÂ
Adrian locked up the regular season conference title and has secured a bid to the National Tournament in early March. Davenport and Michigan-Dearborn are fighting for second place in the conference as they both have 37 points on the season. Oakland sits in fourth place with 31 points as they are one point ahead of the Western Michigan as they are fighting for position for the conference tournament. Kent State and Eastern Michigan cap off the GLCHL in sixth and seventh place, respectively.

ACHA RankingsÂ
In the 14th installment of the ACHA rankings this season, the Panthers moved from 18th to 16th, while Michigan-Dearborn dropped to 18th. Arizona State and Central Oklahoma still hold onto the top two spots, while Oklahoma dropped from third to sixth and Ohio jumped back into the top three. GLCHL conference winner Adrian holds onto the ninth spot in the country. West Virginia was the only team to jump into the top-25 after Oakland dropped out of the rankings after being swept by Davenport.
