GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The top ranked DU women's rugby team took on Notre Dame College Saturday morning in a tough match up with the Falcons. The Falcons took out the Panthers in their last meeting last November in a 26-3 final decision.
The Panthers came out looking to continue their undefeated start to 2015 and took the early lead as
Danielle Ordway converted a try midway through the first half to give DU a 5-0 lead. Davenport maintained a stout defense as they pitched a first half shutout and took their 5-0 lead to the break.
DU then added to their lead in the second half as Ordway would lead the offense by converted three more tries to help the Panthers pull away from the Falcons. Notre Dame College did manage to break the scoreless streak of the DU defense as they managed to convert two second half tries. Ordway scored her final try of the match with four minutes remaining to secure the DU win as the Panthers advanced to 5-0 on the season.
Davenport will see action again on October 24 when they travel to Ferris State for their first road game of the season.
