GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers played two conference matches Saturday afternoon against Marygrove College and Lawrence Tech. DU cruised to a pair of victories as they swept both matches and advanced their record to 20-16, 12-7.
Molly Lameyer continued to lead the Panthers offensively as she recorded 12 kills while hitting .346 in the first match of the day against Marygrove. DU took the match 3-0 as they hit .267 as a team and held the Mustangs to a .070 hitting percentage.
Sydney Tracer recorded 20 assists for the match and
Morgan Torres led the defense with 11 digs.
The second match of the day saw the Panthers sweep Lawrence Tech to bring their winning streak to five matches. Tracer recorded 27 assists and
Marcey DeHaan compiled 11 kills with a .391 hitting percentage as the Panthers won 25-15, 25-14, 25-14. The Panthers hit .302 for the match and held the Blue Devils to a .128 hitting percentage. Torres totaled 10 digs to lead the defense while Lameyer and
Jessica Marvin each recorded two block assists.
The pair of WHAC victories puts the Panthers in a tie for fourth in the conference with Cornerstone University at a 12-7 record and three regular season matches remaining.
