GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After suffering their first loss in their last ten games, the Davenport men's basketball team will hit the road to start their week as they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., to face Indiana Tech. The Warriors are fighting for a spot in the WHAC Tournament as they are currently in a tie with Madonna for seventh in the conference. Live Audio/Video/Stats A Quick Look at Indiana Tech – 10-16, 7-11 WHAC – Head Coach John PeckinpaughThe Warriors enter the week with a 10-16 record overall and is 7-11 in the WHAC and is clinging to the eighth spot in the conference as they lead Siena Heights by on game heading down the final stretch in the WHAC. Last time out, Indiana Tech dropped a game on the road to Lawrence Tech, 62-59. Franklin Lindsey leads the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game, and Chester McFadden is second on the team with 11.2 points per game as the Warriors put up 70.5 points per game. Indiana Tech ranks ninth in the country with 103 total blocks, and has made 231 three-point field goals, which is tenth best in the NAIA.
Panthers vs. WarriorsIn the all-time series between Davenport and Indiana Tech, the Panthers lead the all-time series 13-12. The Warriors won the first six meetings in the series and won the first nine of 11 meetings to start. The Panthers have since taken control of the series as Davenport has won the last seven meeting and nine of the last 11 meetings in a close all-time series.
The Last Time Against the WarriorsIn the last meeting between Davenport and Indiana Tech, Davenport was able to take a slim six point lead at the half. Davenport was able to pull away in the second half as they took an 18 point lead with 9:30 left in the second half. The Panthers shot 56 percent from the field in the second half as they finished the game shooting 47.5 percent from the field. Davenport struggled from the free throw line as they shot a season low 50 percent from the line. DU was able to beat Indiana Tech 71-57, behind 20 points from
