GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After beating Siena Heights on Thursday night, the Davenport men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host crosstown rival Aquinas. After the top-four seed in the won the WHAC Quarterfinals on Thursday, the top seed, Davenport, will host fourth seeded Aquinas on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the DU Student Center, where
Rick Berkey will have the call live on the DAN.

Live Stats/Video/Audio A Quick Look at Aquinas – 19-12, 14-8 WHAC – Head Coach Dave Hammer Aquinas comes into the WHAC Semifinals after they hosted Concordia on Thursday night. The Saints were able to run past the Cardinals in their first game of the WHAC Tournament as they Aquinas won, 80-59. Leading the way for Aquinas has been Anthony Williams as he is the only players averaging double figures this season for the Saints scoring 15.7 points per game. Joe Ferrici is the leading rebounder on the team as he grabs 4.0 rebounds per game, while the Saints outrebound their opponent by 0.7 boards per game.
Panthers vs. SaintsAquinas leads the all-time series between the two programs, 16-12. The Saints won the first 13 meetings, and won 15 of the first 17 meetings. Since then, Davenport has controlled the series as they won ten of the last 11 meetings, including the last six meetings. Since
Burt Paddock has taken over the reins at Davenport, he holds a 12-4 record against Aquinas.
The Last Time Against the Saints The last time Aquinas and Davenport faced off was at the end of January at the DU Student Center. Davenport was able to take an early 14-6 lead in the game and they never looked back, but Aquinas was able to keep the game in reach throughout the first half as Davenport took a 42-33 lead into the half. In the second half, Davenport tried to pull away on a few different occasions as they stretched their lead to double digits eight times, but the Saints continued to the reel them in each time as Davenport never relinquished the lead at any point in time as they led from start to finish en route to an 80-73 win. The Panther starting five combined for 68 of the teams 80 points as four of the five starters reached double figure with
Dominez Burnett leading the way with 22 points.
