OXFORD, OHIO – The Davenport men's lacrosse took on Miami (OH) Friday night under the Yager Stadium lights and came away with a win as they downed the Red Hawks 10-3.
Bryan Larocque and
Quintin St. Clair each recorded three points each including one goal apiece. The Panthers will hop right back into action Saturday afternoon as they take on No. 10 Virginia Tech at 2 p.m.
Ten total Panthers recorded goals on the night, as
CJ Bush's goal ignited the Panther's early offensive assault that saw three consecutive goals scored within the first 2:40 of the first period.
Miami was able to respond however, and knotted the game up 3-3 late into the second period.
Kyle Topper then beat a man to the right and found the back of the net to send Davenport up 4-3 at halftime.
The Panther assault continues the remaining second half of the game, as the Panthers scored four goals in the third and two more in the fourth, all while not allowing a single Miami score.
Freshman
Tate Ferris got the start at goalie, recording eight saves and three goals allowed.
The Panthers will finish their weekend action tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. against No. 10 Virginia Tech.
