GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After beating Lawrence Tech on Wednesday night, the third-ranked Davenport men's basketball team will travel to Lima, Ohio to face 21st-ranked Northwestern Ohio for the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Game of the week. The Panthers currently hold a two game lead over the Racers for first place in the WHAC. Tipoff between Davenport and Northwestern Ohio is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday in Lima, Ohio, and
Rick Berkey will have the game called live on the DAN.

A Quick Look at Northwestern Ohio – 19-6, 14-3 WHAC – Head Coach Chris AdamsThe Racers come into the weekend ranked 21st in the NAIA DII Polls after they dropped four spots in this week's polls after a loss at Cornerstone last weekend. The Racers score 75.4 points per game, while allowing just 67.6 point a game. Lawrence Jackson leads the team in scoring this season averaging 17.5 points per game, and Jackson is also the leading rebounder as he grabs 5.3 boards a game. The Racers have 444 assists this season, which ranks fourth in the NAIA and is eighth in the NAIA with 17.8 assists per game. Josh Scott leads the team with 135 assist, which is ninth best in the country.

Panthers vs. RacersPrior to this matchup, Davenport and Northwestern Ohio have met ten times with Davenport winning nine of the ten games. The only win for the Racers in the series was last season in Grand Rapids as Northwestern Ohio was able to edge Davenport 83-81. The Panthers won the first six meetings of the series and have won the last three including the WHAC semifinal last season in Grand Rapids.

The Last Time Against the RacersThe last meeting between Davenport and Northwestern Ohio was the first game of WHAC play on November 15th in Grand Rapids. In the first half, Northwestern Ohio was able to shoot 53.6 percent from the field and was 5-for-8 from behind the arc as they led the Panthers 38-34 at halftime. Davenport started to make their comeback in the second half as the Panthers took their first lead of the half with 17:04 left in the second half.
Dominez Burnett scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half, while
Kevin Rich tallied ten of his 12 points in the second half. Davenport trailed by three points with 19 seconds left in regulation, and the Panthers scored the final four points, capped off by a pair of free throws from Burnett, to beat the Racers 71-70.
