LIMA, Ohio – The Davenport men's basketball team started their two game road trip on Saturday in Lima, Ohio against Northwestern Ohio in the NAIA DII Men's Basketball Game of the Week.
Dawid Czerniawski led the Panthers with 19 points to set a new career-high, but the Panthers lost to the Racer 95-78, which snaps a ten game winning streak for Davenport. The Panthers will continue their road trip against Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

With 19 points in the game,
Dawid Czerniawski led the Panthers in scoring, which set a new career-high for the red-shirt junior.
Dominez Burnett had 17 points and led the team with seven rebounds, while
Kevin Rich chipped in with 12 points and
Nick Gamble had 11 in the game.
John McCloud was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line as he had ten points in the game.

Davenport started the game on a 7-2 to run, but Northwestern Ohio was able to come right back with a 13-0 run to take a 15-7 lead with 12:26 left in the first half. The Panthers were able to chip away at the Racer lead as DU pulled within four with 5:18 left in the half, but UNOH ended the half on a 14-4 run to take 42-28 lead into the half. The Racers shot 57.1 percent from the field in the first half, including 7-for-10 from behind the arc.

In the second half, Northwestern Ohio took their largest lead of the game with 17:46 left in the game as they led 49-30. Davenport tried to inch their way back into the game as they cut the lead to ten with 4:29 left in the second half, but that was as close as they would get as the Racers would win the game 95-78. Northwestern Ohio shot 64 percent from the field in the second half as they finished the game shooting 60.4 percent from the field. The Panthers shot 49.2 percent from the field in the game after shooting 54.6 percent in the second half.

The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday night when they continue their road trip to face Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind., at 7:30 p.m.

Post-Game NotesThe Panthers allowed a season-high 95 points in the game, and this is the first time since February 23, 2013 that Davenport has allowed 90 points in the game, when Cornerstone score 91 against DU in the WHAC semifinal, but the Panthers won 93-91… The Panthers only grabbed 26 rebounds as they were outrebounded 35-26, and the 26 rebounds tied their season low… This is the first time since December 12, 2012 against Madonna that the Panthers allowed a team to shoot over 60 percent as the Racer shot 60.4 percent from the field.
