GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It's been four months since
Greg Teliczan's Davenport women's rugby team came up short in the USA Rugby 15's National Championships, but a new season of 7's play is upon the Panthers travel LakePoin'st Sports Complex to compete in the Atlanta Rugby 7's Festival. Game one for the Panthers is slated for 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 14

The Panthers The Panthers were dominant in their 2014 fall season, posting an undefeated 8-0 regular season record while only allowing a total of 27 points from all of their opponents combined. The Panthers then went on to defeat Illinois State 111-0 in the opening round of the 15's National Championship Tournament, but then fell to Notre Dame College 26-3 in the second round.
Returning for the Panthers is sophomore
Danielle Ordway who leads the team with 95 total points and 19 tries. Ordway, along with
Brittany O'Dell,
Jennifer Harig, and
Ashlee Byrge also competed in the USA sevens international rugby tournament last month, which was the largest rugby tournament in North America.
