GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After playing their first three games of the season away from home, the second ranked Davenport women's lacrosse team will host Lourdes on Wednesday evening. This will be the second meeting between Davenport and Lourdes in just a week and a half as the Panthers beat the Gray Wolves, 17-5 in Beverly Hills, Mich. The opening draw between Davenport and Lourdes is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening from the DU Turf Field, where

Live Audio/Video/Stats A Quick Look at LourdesThe Gray Wolves are still in search of their first conference win, as they sit at 0-3 in the WHAC. They lost a close 14-13 match against at Lawrence Tech to start their season and dropped their next two matches to Davenport and Indiana Tech. However, Lourdes has been able to grab a pair of non-conference wins in their last two matches over Alma and Franklin. Alyssa Long, who was named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week this week, leads the Gray Wolves with 18 goals and 20 points on the season.
The Last Time vs. LourdesIn the last meeting between Davenport and Lourdes, the Panthers opened their conference slate against the Gray Wolves with a 17-5 win. The Panthers got off to a strong start as they took a 9-3 lead into halftime, and Davenport continued to pull away in the second half as they outscored Lourdes 8-2 in the half to win the game 17-5.
Last Time OutIn the last game for the Panthers, No. 2 Davenport was able to take down No. 4 Indiana Tech in a top-five NWLL showdown. The Panthers got off to a strong start as they scored the first seven goals against the Warriors and took a 9-2 lead into the half. The second half turned into a game of runs as each team scored five goals apiece in half, and Davenport went on to win 14-7.
Jessica Lemcke scored four goals to lead the Panthers, while
Taylor Balch tallied one goal and four assists. Sam Powers made 12 saves on 19 shots.
Starting StrongIn the second season under head coach
Rob Harris, Davenport has gotten off to a strong start on the season as they have started the season 3-0 and are 2-0 in the WHAC as they started the season with a non-conference win over Ave Maria in Florida, followed by wins over Lourdes and Indiana Tech.
