GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The no. 2 Davenport women's rugby team got off to a tremendous start last weekend as they participated in the Atlanta 7's Rugby Festival against all division I teams, taking second overall after going 3-2 on the day. The Panthers will shift to 15s play for this weekend as they travel to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood for the first time in this 2014-2015 season. The game will be this Saturday and kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The PanthersIn the Atlanta 7's Festival, the Panthers (13-3) finished 3-2 on the day against all division I competition, and came up just short of a tournament title as they fell to American International College for 24-19 in the championship match. Sophomore
Danielle Ordway led Davenport recording seven tries and four conversion kicks on the day, while
Ashlee Byrge recorded five tries and six conversions of her own.
Ordway now has 26 tries on the season, and a total of 138 points, both a team high.
Scouting LindenwoodSaturday's game against Davenport will be the Lions second game of the spring season, and their second and final 15s match before beginning 7s play next weekend at Nebraska. Lindenwood is 12-3 overall in the 2014-2015 season, and is undefeated at home with a 3-0 record.
The Lions and Panthers have squared off against one other twice before, with Davenport holding a 2-0 record in the series.
