Eastman Extends Hit Streak to 13 in No. 23 Panthers Two Wins

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The cold temperature at Lindenwood University's Lou Brock Complex did not cool off Alyssa Eastman Friday. The sophomore recorded a hit in both games to bump her hitting streak up to all 13 games played this season as she and No. 23 Davenport softball team held off No. 25 Taylor 1-0 before pounding Lindenwood-Belleville 12-2 in six innings.

Eastman finished the day going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five RBI along with picking up her fifth win as a pitcher in game two against the Lynx.

Game 1 – Davenport 1, Taylor 0
In what appeared to be on paper a pitching duel between Emily Maves (6-1) and Taylor's Hannah Robbins (2-2). It wasn't until the fourth inning that Davenport broke the Trojan's right-hander when back-to-back doubles by Paige Sant'Angelo and Alyssa Eastman that brought in the game's only run.

Sant'Angelo recorded two of the Panthers' four hits.

Maves threw seven solid innings on the circle, striking out eight while allowing two hits and a walk. In fact, the Davenport defense did not allow a runner reach second base. After she allowed a one-out walk in the second, Maves would retire 15 straight before the momentum was stopped in the seventh with a one-out single.

Game 2 – Davenport 12, Lindenwood-Belleville 2 (6 innings)
Although the Lynx struck first in their half of the first inning, Davenport (12-1) knocked on the door in the second but came through in the third with a five-run explosion. Haley Obetts led off with a single to right and scored the tying run off Karli Myers' triple to right center. The Panthers jumped ahead on Sarah Schneidenbach's one-out single through the right side. Eastman and Ashleigh Blovsky gave Davenport a 5-1 lead with back-to-back doubles to center.

Myers, who drew a walk in the fourth, would go on to drive in the sixth run in the fifth and completed a three-hit game with a two-run double to center in the sixth. Carli SanMillan would help put the game out of the Lynx's reach with a two-run triple to right.

Eastman tossed all six innings allowing seven hits and a walk.

Davenport returns to the Lou Brock Complex Saturday with another matchup between Taylor and Lindenwood-Belleville. The Panthers take on the Trojans at noon ET before wrapping up the weekend with the Lynx thereafter.
