ADRIAN, Mich. – The Panthers began their play in the WHAC Wednesday night with a road matchup against the Siena Heights University Saints. Davenport fell behind early as they dropped their first set, 25-18, and were not able to recover as the Saints took the match, 3-0.
Marcey DeHaan led the Davenport attack with eight kills while
Krissy Dill tallied seven. The Panthers fought uphill for the match as Siena managed to grab the early lead in all three sets. Davenport fought till the end as they took the final set to the last points before the Saints pulled out a 25-23 set victory to hand the Panthers their loss and drop them to 3-6, 0-1 in 2015.
Sami White added to the Panther attack with 23 assists and
Morgan Torres led the defense with 12 digs.
The Panthers will open up at home in their next match with a 6 p.m. start on Friday (9/4) against Indiana University at South Bend.
