GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers lost their first home WHAC match Wednesday night against Cornerstone University in front of a great crowd. The Golden Eagles and Davenport each came in with a 4-1 record in conference play.
The teams traded victories in the first two sets as each took a commanding win to keep the match tied, 1-1. The Golden Eagles then pulled away in the final two sets by taking out Davenport, 25-15 and 25-20, to drop the Panthers in four sets. The Panthers battled to the end as
Molly Lameyer compiled 15 kills and two blocks.
Sami White contributed 35 assists and
Morgan Torres led the defense with 25 digs. The Panthers could not keep their momentum going after a commanding 25-15 win in set two as they now stand at 10-9 overall with a 4-2 record in WHAC play.
