GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's volleyball team took on the No. 15 Madonna Crusaders Wednesday night. The Crusaders took the first two sets from the Panthers before DU came back to force a fourth set. Madonna would hold on to their lead to drop Davenport to 11-11 overall with a 5-4 mark in the WHAC after a 25-21 decision.
Molly Lameyer led the Panther attack as she compiled a 14-kill night on a .306 hitting percentage. Davenport would play the first set to a close 25-20 decision before Madonna took control of the match following a 25-12 win in set two.
Sami White contributed 31 assists and
Marcey DeHaan added seven kills as the Panthers fought to stay in the match.
They would overcome the Crusaders in set three as they took the game 25-21.
Morgan Torres led the defense with 19 digs and
Sarah Wendling recorded two blocks. This comeback fell short in set four as the Crusaders would overcome a 11-to-10 DU lead to take five straight points on their way to the set victory.
