GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The No. 1 men's basketball program looked every bit of it on Wednesday night as they won 82-47 over visiting Lawrence Tech improving to 16-3 overall and 10-1 in the WHAC. The Panthers came out with energy on both ends of the floor building a 17-0 lead in the first six minutes. The Blue Devils committed nine turnovers and had just one shot in the first four and a half minutes as Davenport used pressure defense that Lawrence Tech could not handle. LTU scored their first points at 13:14 of the half.

Dominez Burnett each scored four points before the first timeout by LTU.
Wes Webbert converted a three-point play making it 11-0 with 15:34 left in the half.
Nick Gamble hit a lay-up followed by a Burnett jumper and a fast-break basket by
Andia Marsh to force another timeout and a 17-0 lead.
Davenport closed out the first half leading 46-13 allowing the fewest points in the first half this season. The Panthers scored 30 points in the paint attacking the hoop with regularity. They also had a 24-0 advantage in points off turnovers as LTU coughed it up 16 times in the first 20 minutes. DU built their lead to 58-18 in the first four and a half minutes to start the second half. LTU managed to convert 8-of-15 from behind the arc in the second half after DU led by as many as 47 midway through the half. The Blue Devils shot 50 percent in the second half. DU shot 58.1 percent in the first half and 48.1 percent in the second half. The Panthers were 6-of-13 from behind the arc and 14-of-20 at the free throw line.
Burnett led the team with 26 points going 11-of-15 from the floor in 24 minutes. Webbert scored 11 points going 5-of-6 from the floor in 19 minutes. Marsh scored a season-high 11 points off the bench and also had three assists in 16 minutes. The Panthers held a 30-23 edge on the boards with 11 offensive rebounds. DU had a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (21/7) for the game as four players recorded three assists.Â
